Friends’ Tết itinerary with a Mekong outing
The trip combined a one-day class, an excursion to the Mekong Delta and a District 7 villa. The holiday discount was part of the archived offer.
Tết is Vietnam’s biggest holiday. The extra pressure on accommodation costs, transport and scheduling can make you hesitate before you even start planning.
But this trip turned out to be surprisingly smooth from the start.
It was because a limited-time discount event was applied during the Chinese New Year period.
- Period: February 9 – February 22
- Offer: an additional discount of $50–$100 per night
- Lunar New Year period (February 16 – 19)
The weekday rate applied, with no weekend surcharge under this offer.
Even though it was a holiday season, the condition was manageable for a group of friends in their 30s planning a New Year trip.
Having those details settled first made preparing for the trip feel much less daunting.

A trip where there was almost nothing to worry about from start to finish.
The best part of this trip was that the phrase 'Who should take care of this?' hardly came up at all.
We headed straight to our pick-up on arrival. Our ride back to the airport was on time on departure day, so both ends of the trip felt easy.
We didn't need to call a taxi or rush because of luggage, and could just sit together laughing and chatting.
It felt more like taking a break than traveling.

One day was enough, a single one-day class was sufficient.
Among the travel itinerary, I only included one one-day class without being too greedy.
It was a program that could be participated in without any pressure, like coffee or local culture, so I didn't have to rush in the morning, and after it ended, I didn't feel like saying, 'What should I do now?'
After experiencing the same space and the same experience, the conversation that day felt much more natural, and there were more memorable moments than photos.
Such an itinerary actually made the trip feel more like a real travel experience.

One day, I left the city for the Mekong tour.
One day, we left Ho Chi Minh City for a trip to the Mekong.
The itinerary involved moving along the river and slowly taking in the quiet village and nature, making the pace of the trip feel noticeably slower.
Traveling in a private vehicle was less tiring. On the way back to the villa, we were so comfortable that the conversation gradually faded.
Mixing city travel with a day like this gave the whole itinerary a perfectly balanced feel.

🏡 District 7 villa in the Korean neighborhood of Phu My Hung
A space that is more comfortable than home and more free than a hotel
Our base for this trip was a District 7 villa near the Korean neighborhood in Phu My Hung.
The moment we opened the villa door and stepped inside, it felt natural to say, 'This is just like our home from now on,' as it was so clean.
The overall interior was in a brown-toned semi-living room style, neat and tidy, with no unnecessary decorations, making it both modern and sophisticated.
Thanks to the warm lighting, the atmosphere was calm, and the living room, with sunlight coming in, turned bright during the day and cozy in the evening.
The villa wasn’t new, but the upkeep made it feel new and it was spotless, too.
There was not a single speck of dust on the floor, and even the bathroom tiles sparkled, making me think, 'This is really well-maintained.'

The time we spent laughing together around the 8-person dining table was magical.
The center of this villa was the spacious living room and the 8-person dining table.
In the morning, we had coffee and a light meal while calmly planning our day, and at night, we spread out local food or delivery barbecue on the dining table, and had a good laugh.
The conversations we shared with friends under the white-toned lighting were always serious yet warm.
As time flowed carelessly, the phrase 'This is real travel' came up often.

🏊 Roof-top Pool – Private Relaxation in the City Center
The highlight of this villa was definitely the roof-top pool.
The pool is of medium to small size, but the surrounding area is open, so there was no feeling of being cramped.
During the day, we enjoyed swimming under the sun and relaxed at our leisure, and as night fell, the pool lights blended with the city lights, creating a small resort-like atmosphere.
The time when we connected the speaker, held a glass of wine, and sat by the edge of the pool, chatting, is a memory I will never forget.
Lying on the sunbed, enjoying the cool breeze, and looking at the sky of Ho Chi Minh City seems like it will stay with me for a long time.

🎧 The perfect comfort created by small details
Throughout the villa, there were small details that helped ease the fatigue of travel.
The snack bar and mini bar were fully equipped, making it convenient to grab a beer at night or a drink or snack during the day. Playing music through the Bluetooth speaker instantly transformed the space into a romantic lounge.
"That's why villa travel is better than hotels" wasn't just a random comment.

📍 Near Phu My Hung and easy to get around
We loved the location of the District 7 villa in Phu My Hung’s Korean neighborhood, too.
The mart, cafe, good eateries, and massage shops were all within walking distance, and it was also great for experiencing the local vibe by strolling around the nearby streets at night.
A 10-minute taxi ride would take you to the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, making it perfect for balancing tourism and relaxation.
