Rainy-day plans at a villa with an indoor pool

I want to go to Ho Chi Minh City for a vacation and fun with my colleagues, but where should we book a pool villa?
“Is there somewhere we can sing karaoke, swim, barbecue and relax?”
“Is there somewhere we could do a little work, get plenty of rest and have fun together?”

This was exactly our team's dilemma.
In mid-June, four of us from the team took a two-day, one-night trip to Ho Chi Minh City. We wanted a break with a little of the feel of a working holiday.
Even though it was a short trip, the accommodation had to be perfect enough to feel 'Oh, this place is really great!'

But as soon as we started searching for accommodations, we hit a wall.
Airbnb wasn’t an option when we looked, and reviews of local agents made us uneasy. We’d seen comments about places looking different from the photos, or the whole karaoke setup amounting to a microphone in the living room.
Especially finding a place with an indoor space where we could swim and play even if it rained, and a vibe that was both work-friendly and fun was the hardest part.

That’s when we discovered ITDANG.

As soon as we arrived, the team members all simultaneously exclaimed "This is the place!" out of their mouths.
We could sing in the living room, dip into the pool and head straight to the kitchen for a beer. The layout worked beautifully for us.

The actual concern point was resolved like this

1. “Can we use karaoke at night?”

The karaoke area was connected to the living room and had a Korean-style system with speakers, microphones and a backing-track machine.
However, we were informed that usage should be avoided after 10 PM due to noise issues, and we finished up before that.
Still, two hours were enough to be perfectly "stress relief".

2. "Can you swim even if it's raining?"

Yes. Because it's an indoor pool, the real thing is that you're not affected by the weather. Swimming while drinking canned beer on a rainy day is a totally different level.
The water temperature was also just right, and there were tables where you could sit and rest inside, so it was perfect for one person swimming while the others could sit and chat.

3. "Isn't it too far from the city center?"

No. It's only 35 minutes to the airport, and 15 minutes by car to the city center of District 1, which was more than enough.
Grab is also easy to catch, and there was absolutely no burden for moving around.

4. "Are there convenience stores or restaurants nearby?"

Of course.
There's a convenience store within 5 minutes' walk for simple shopping, food delivery via Grab works very well, and since you can enjoy BBQ on the rooftop terrace with a view of the river, the evening atmosphere is also perfect.

🕐 Our actual workation schedule (Friday–Saturday, two days and one night)

Day 1 (Fri): morning arrival in Ho Chi Minh City and pickup by ITDANG. After check-in we unpacked, swam in the indoor pool and set up karaoke. We ordered lunch on Grab and held a team meeting with work time in the afternoon. The evening was for a terrace barbecue and karaoke until 10 p.m., then beer and conversation under the lights.

Day 2 (Saturday) Morning cleaning + towel change / Playing soft music and having a reflective brunch meeting in the living room, then dining out and heading to the airport by ITDANG vehicle

➡ It's a good size and the temperature was just right. It's actually better when it rains.

Q. What about the facilities? Are there a supermarket and delivery available?
➡ The supermarket is within walking distance, and Grab works well for deliveries.

Q. Would it work for a workation?
➡ The living room, table, and WiFi were all stable enough for simple work.

Q. Can it be discounted?
➡ Conditions vary by season and group size, so check directly with ITDANG for an accurate answer.

In a nutshell

"Even if it rained, was noisy, or I was tired, it was all fine." That's exactly the result of this vacation.

A pool villa with all the entertainment in one place. Our two days and one night were brief, but we managed to rest, get some work done and return refreshed.
