From airport fast track to a workation at Bebob Villa

I always worry about a few things before I fly abroad.
“How long will the queue at immigration be?”
“Will it be easy to get a taxi?”
“Will the accommodation be comfortable?”

This workation in Ho Chi Minh City felt different.
Two things made the difference.

When I arrived, a staff member was waiting with an ITDANG sign.

✔ At the time of our stay, every bedroom had a king-size bed and its own bathroom.
✔ The karaoke room had good sound insulation, a mirror ball and lighting; the equipment impressed us.
✔ The dart machine gave us a way to play as a team.
✔ The kitchen and living room had plenty of space for meetings.
✔ We could end the day with a barbecue, then enjoy the evening air on the rooftop terrace.

💻 What our workation actually looked like

✔ Morning meetings in the living room
✔ Lunch at a nearby seafood or local pho restaurant
✔ Individual work and wrap-up in the afternoon
✔ A barbecue for dinner
✔ Karaoke, darts and conversation on the terrace at night 🎤

Ideas flowed during meetings, and once we finished work, we could pass the microphone around with friends.
That was the moment I felt I could really unwind.

📍 Getting around

✔ Travel times noted on this trip: airport 35 minutes, District 1 15 minutes and District 7 30 minutes.
✔ A shopping area serving a large apartment complex was a 5-minute walk away.
✔ A riverside park and quiet walking route were about 10 minutes away on foot.
✔ Our usual route took us past restaurants, massage shops and local cafés.

💬 What I took away from the trip

✔ An easy journey from immigration to the villa
✔ An accommodation recommendation that fit the group and connected well with the rest of the trip
✔ A plan that worked for both the job and the trip
