One day sightseeing, one day at Scat Villa
The story considers leaving a full day free at the villa instead of scheduling sightseeing every day.
When planning a trip, the biggest argument is usually this.
“Should we pack every day with outings, or spend one day just resting at the villa?”
Especially in a trip like this with seven friends in their 30s, balancing stamina and fun was really important.
Our plan was to spend one day sightseeing and another making the most of the villa. The question was whether there would really be enough to do there.
📍 Scat Villa Basic Info
- Location: Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City
- Seven guest rooms and eight bathrooms, five of them en-suite
- Maximum occupancy: 14 guests
- Pool: medium-to-large size, with tubes and life jackets available
- Karaoke: a separate sound-insulated room, Korean system and a mirror ball that responds to the sound.
- BBQ service: from preparing ingredients → grilling meat → final cleaning
- Others: elevator, 1 cleaning per day, towel change, amenity provision
- Dogs allowed: yes, with an additional fee.
Worries and how they were resolved
1. Would we get bored spending the whole day at the villa?
Scat Villa wasn't just a place to rest—it was the playground itself.
We swam in the morning, sang karaoke in the afternoon and had a barbecue in the evening.
We stayed in all day and didn’t have a moment to get bored.
2. What if the tourist spots and accommodation are too far apart?
On days when you want to enjoy tourism, it takes about 15 minutes by car to reach the city center of District 1.
The nearest supermarket is a 1-minute walk, local good eats are 10 minutes away, and there's even a jazz bar right next to the villa.
With no moving stress, it was perfectly possible to alternate between one day of tourism and one day of rest.
3. Won't it be cramped if multiple people share?
Even with seven of us, there was room to spare.
The living room, kitchen, pool and karaoke space suited a group. We could split up to go sightseeing and meet again, or spend a whole day together at the villa.
Our actual three-day itinerary
Day 1 (Wed): airport, check-in at Scat Villa, then unpacking, swimming and a grocery run. In the evening we visited the jazz bar opposite and came home for karaoke.
Day 2 (Thu), sightseeing: after the morning cleaning and towel change, we headed into town. We visited cafés, a traditional market and a local restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City, then walked through a riverside park before heading home.
Day 3 (Fri), a day at the villa: we slept in and played in the pool with floats. We ordered lunch on Grab, barbecued and sang karaoke in the afternoon, then had wine after 10 p.m. before getting ready for checkout the following morning.

Q. Can we use the karaoke room late at night?
→ It's fine until before 10 am, but after that, it's recommended to refrain due to noise issues. The soundproofing is good.
Q. Is there a supermarket nearby?
→ There is a convenience store and a supermarket within a 1-minute walk.
Q. Is it easy to get food delivered?
→ Grab delivery works well without any issues.
Q. How convenient is it to get downtown?
→ It takes 15 minutes by car to reach the city center of District 1, and 35 minutes to the airport. The location is convenient.
Q. Is it a good place for a group to hang out?
The roomy living area, pool, karaoke setup and large table worked well for our group.
Overall impressions
Scat Villa suited travelers like us who wanted a balance of sightseeing and rest.
It was easy to get around when sightseeing, and the facilities kept us entertained when we stayed in. Our plan of one day out and one day in worked perfectly.
For the next trip to Ho Chi Minh City, I would choose Scat Villa again if it has the same structure.
Because it can capture both physical exertion, fun, and memories.
