In early December, with the year drawing to a close, my close friends in their forties and I finally got away together again for four days and three nights in Ho Chi Minh City.

The living room was bright and spacious, so we could sit anywhere comfortably. The kitchen had well-equipped basic appliances, making it completely hassle-free to prepare simple meals.
With an 8-person table at the center, we talked about our itinerary over coffee in the morning and spread out takeout food for chatting in the evening.
If it were a hotel, we would have dispersed into our own rooms at that point, but here it became a natural time for us to gather together.

After a few karaoke songs we’d say, “Let’s just spend the rest of tonight here.” Having everything at the villa added more to our enjoyment than we’d expected.
